Desk Setup · Public runbook
Every session follows this page. Exactly.
Desk Setup is a $499 one-time, flat-fee, standardized technical service for subscribers who want the published feed wired into their own automation. This runbook is public on purpose: what we do on the screen-share is exactly what is written here, for every client, with no per-client variation. That is the compliance posture — a standardized publication-support service, not personalized advice and not account management.
Prerequisites — you arrive with all of these
- ◆ An active Signal Room, Pro Desk, or Partner Desk subscription.
- ◆ An existing, already-funded brokerage account at OANDA (FX), Tradovate (futures), or tastytrade (options). We never assist with opening or funding broker accounts — not with paperwork, not with recommendations of a broker, not with deposits. If you do not have a funded account, we will reschedule, not help.
- ◆ A computer for a screen-share where you do all the typing of credentials.
- ◆ The signed Desk Setup Acknowledgment, accepted before the session starts.
Create your own automation account
You sign up — your email, your billing, your login — at whichever automation tool you prefer. We hold no reseller relationship with any of them and receive nothing for the referral:
- TradersPost — Webhook-driven automation for futures, options, and more.
- PickMyTrade — Webhook automation with Tradovate support.
- SignalStack — Turns webhook signals into orders at many brokers.
Generate API keys in YOUR broker portal
You log into your own broker portal (OANDA, Tradovate, or tastytrade) and generate API credentials yourself. You will complete this step with your own hands, on your own screen. Do not paste keys into chat, email, or anywhere we could see or store them — during a Desk Setup session we will explicitly ask you to perform this step yourself and we look away from key entry. We never see, store, transmit, or hold broker credentials. Ever.
Enter the keys into YOUR tool — yourself
You type your broker API keys directly into your own automation tool's connection settings. The connection runs entirely between your tool and your broker; our infrastructure is never in that path. If a key is ever compromised, you revoke it in your broker portal — a control that stays with you because the keys never left you.
Connect the CMA feed
We configure the standardized webhook plumbing: your tool's inbound webhook is pointed at the CMA published signal format (documented for Pro Desk subscribers), field mappings are set exactly as the published payload spec describes, and delivery is verified with a test ping. This step is identical for every client — the configuration comes from this runbook, not from anyone's judgment about you.
Choose one of the two published presets
Sizing and exposure rules come only from two fixed, published presets. Both are standardized rule sets offered identically to every subscriber. Choosing between them is your decision; we will not recommend one, modify either for you, or discuss your personal circumstances — that would be personalized advice, and this service never includes it.
Conservative preset
- ◆ Half of the published default signal size
- ◆ Maximum 1 concurrent open position
- ◆ No overnight futures positions — flat before session close
Standard preset
- ◆ The published default signal sizing, as stated on each signal
- ◆ Maximum 3 concurrent open positions
- ◆ Signal-defined stops and targets, unmodified
Both presets are fixed published rule sets, identical for all subscribers. Neither is a recommendation or advice; neither accounts for your financial situation, which we do not know and will not ask about.
Test with the smallest size
Before anything runs unattended, you send one test signal through at your broker's minimum size and verify three things in your own account: the order filled, the stop attached, and the position appears in your tool's dashboard. If any of the three fails, the session stops there until it passes.
Know your kill-switch
You leave the session knowing exactly how to cut the connection — because monitoring and control stay with you, not us:
- TradersPost: disable the strategy or turn off the broker connection from the dashboard — one toggle.
- PickMyTrade: deactivate the alert/token mapping or disconnect the broker link in settings.
- SignalStack: pause or delete the signal endpoint from your account.
- Nuclear option, any tool: revoke the API key in your broker portal. The automation goes dark instantly, and only you can do it — or undo it.
What a Desk Setup session will never include
- ◆ Opening, funding, or recommending a broker account.
- ◆ Seeing, storing, transmitting, or holding your API keys or login credentials.
- ◆ Custom sizing, custom risk rules, or any deviation from the two published presets.
- ◆ Advice about whether automation, any signal, or any preset suits your situation.
- ◆ Ongoing monitoring of your positions or your connection — that duty stays with you.
- ◆ Any discretion over your account, at any time, for any reason.
Before you book
Every Desk Setup client accepts a one-page acknowledgment before the session: your account, your keys, your control; no discretion and no monitoring duty on us; automation technology can fail and orders can slip; you can disconnect at any time; the fee is flat and never contingent on results; and no personalized advice will be given during the session. Read it now — Desk Setup Acknowledgment.
Trading futures, forex, and options involves substantial risk of loss. Automation adds technology risk on top of market risk. See the Risk Disclosures.
